Planting the seeds for a greener future
Sixty Two

Microgaming's headquarters was one of the Isle of Man's first privately held office buildings to achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' sustainability rating.

We were invested in achieving certification for our new building to develop and establish a more sustainable environment and encourage staff to help create a greener future. Our aim is to focus on managing the building’s life cycle by supporting the ongoing health and wellbeing of our growing workforce.

Environmental Management System

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we have replaced take-away and lunch containers with more sustainable alternatives and are also monitoring our energy consumption with Energy Eye.

Our motion LED lights and IT software have sensors that go to sleep after a period of inactivity, and new smart bins and ecological initiatives including smart water dispensers and reusable bamboo mugs have been embraced by staff with the support of PlayItForward.

Sustainability Pledge

Our Sustainability Pledge

To show our commitment to a greener future, we have put together a sustainability pledge to support the work we do, in both the office and community, to help us protect and conserve our planet for many years to come.

As an extension of our statement of intent, the pledge supports our environmental management system and the initiatives that fall under it, including waste segregation and monitoring energy consumption.

Eco Warriors

To support our mission to continually improve our environment performance and protect the planet, we encourage everyone at Microgaming to do their bit.

We all have a responsibility as ‘Eco Warriors’ to take action and help make a positive difference, from reducing and recycling waste at work to lending a hand to boost bigger eco projects.

Green Initiatives

For the past two years, Microgaming has made a conscious effort to lower the waste produced during ICE London, the online gaming industry's largest trade show.

As part of this PlayItForward initiative, we vowed to continue our eco-friendly pledge by reusing more than 75% of our exhibition stand from ICE 2019, as well as recycling and donating materials to help protect our planet, while benefiting those in need. In 2020, 80% of the stand has been reused from previous builds and the carpet will be donated to a good cause for a second time.

Charging the future.

At Microgaming HQ, PlayItForward has invested in electric bikes for staff to use to run errands or simply go for a ride around the block! Stored in the underground car park with a dedicated cycle lane, each bike can reach between 30 and 140 power assisted miles, and comes with locks and saddlebags, and have front and rear lights for the dark days of winter.

Basking Shark

Basking Shark

In 2019, we collaborated with Farmyard Studios to create a bespoke eco basking shark, which was donated to Beach Buddies IOM to benefit the Isle of Man community and bring plastic recycling to the forefront at four local events.

Unveiled at The Southern Agricultural Show, the basking shark is already an award-winning project that is poised to settle into its new home soon at Peel breakwater.
