EMS is a commitment to our natural environment whereby we adopt controls to minimise any negative impact on the environment.
In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, Microgaming has undertaken many changes and will continue to implement and develop other EMS projects in support of our environmental objectives at Evergreen - our new premises.
PlayItForward support many of these environmental activities, providing financial and logistical support for eco projects, whilst overseeing an extensive volunteering programme to help drive awareness on campus.
To date, we have:
- Proactively removed all glassware from the office, providing staff with bamboo and other alternatives
- Replaced disposable lunch/drink containers with more sustainable alternatives, ensuring no single-use plastics are purchased by the company
- Monitored our energy consumption with Energy Eye, tracking our electricity and C02 levels in real time
- Ensured all cleaning products and stationery are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and sourced responsibly
- Installed motion LED lights and IT software with sensors that go to sleep after a period of inactivity
- Installed a binfrastructure to facilitate recycling and waste segregation
- Embraced ecological initiatives such as reusable bamboo mugs
- Transitioned to a paperless environment and implemented facilities for the recycling of confidential waste
- Encouraged employees to use our Cycle to Work and Car Sharing schemes
- Provided composting facilities at our staff coffee shop, ensuring coffee grounds are used by employees and local farmers to help replenish their land
- Gifted each staff member a biophilic desk plant, fostering responsibility for its care and growth.
